They say only about 1% of high school wrestlers go on to compete at the Division 1 level.

This brand is for the truth that unites all of us—the 1% and the 99% alike. It’s for the universal takeaway from the sport: a lifetime of character forged on the mat. It's for the massive tribe who knows that while a state or national title is an incredible achievement, the real, lasting victory is the discipline and grit that shape the rest of your life.

Our family was, and is a part of that tribe. My wife and I watched our boys embrace the sport’s brutal honesty. We’ve lived the entire scramble: the extra nights and weekend club practices, the high-priced tournament fees, the travel, and the year-round training. We know the feeling of driving for hours just to watch your son go two-and-out, and we’ve survived the endless hours of waiting—and the anxiety and frustration felt when all you could do was watch two little wrestling icons battle it out on a lousy app.

Our sons weren't D1 national champions, but they were wrestlers to their core. They were good enough to qualify for the 5A state championships several times, and we had one state placer. A couple went on to wrestle in college, one at the D2 level.

Scramble Monkey was born from that reality. It wasn't some big corporate idea; it was a scrappy solution hatched in the car on the long drive to a club practice. It was a real-world business class designed to teach, to help fund the scramble—to pay for gas, gear, and tournaments like Fargo. It was a brand built out of necessity and for the love of the sport.

We exist for the wrestlers, the coaches, the moms and dads in the stands, and the former athletes whose lives are still guided by the lessons learned on the mat. We understand the whole ride—the highs, the lows, the tears, and the excitement. We make creative, authentic apparel because we believe this community deserves a brand that has lived the scramble.

Today, Scramble Monkey is a wrestling family operation founded on the lived experience of wrestling. We know the difference between a tough loss and a “really bad day at the office.” We know the gut-wrenching feeling of a quick pin, and we know the absolute thrill of a double-overtime wrestle-back win that punches a ticket to the state tournament.
